Ulano
Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3
Product
Summary
A degreaser solution that removes dirt, dust and oils from all fabrics,
new and used.
Degreasing should be considered a first step in stencil-making,
as it greatly reduces the risk of stencil-making failure, extends
on-press stencil longevity,
and alleviates pinholing. Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3 is ready-to-use--no
mixing. Degreases effectively in hard water. Rinses clean with hot
or cold water. Non-caustic--will not harm frames, fabric, or adhesives
on stretch
and glue frames. Reccomended for use with all Ulano stencil systems.
Instructions
* If using Screen Degreaser Concentrate No. 33, mix ten parts water to one
part Ulano No. 33.
* Apply Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3 or Screen Degreaser Concentrate No. 33
to a wet screen from both sides with a wet, soft, long-bristle nylon brush.
Continue brushing until a light foam develops.
* Let the screen stand a few minutes until the foam subsides.
* Rinse the screen thoroughly from both sides. Including the inside edge of
the frame and the frame corners, with hot or cold water. To Speed Stencil Removal
After ink removal, spray both sides of the screen with water and apply Screen
Degreaser Liquid No. 3 or Screen Degreaser Concentrate No. 33 as in degreasing
(above). Rinse with tap water. Degreasing helps remove oily ink residues, washup
solvents and makes the stencil more receptive to water-borne removal chemicals.
Health & Safety
Information
Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3 may be irritating upon prolonged
contact with the skin or eyes. First Aid: In case of contact
with the eyes or skin, flush
immediately with water. If irritation develops, contact a physician. |

Ulanogel 23 Roughening/Degreasing
Gel Product Summary
An abrasive degreaser gel that combines the actions of Microgrit No. 2
and Screen Degreaser Liquid No. 3
The abrading action of Ulanogel 23 promotes better wetting of the fabric
and adhesion of the stencil, and thus, longer press life. Its degreasing
action removes dirt, dust, and oils from the fabric, reducing the risk
of stencil failure and pinholing.
Ulanogel 23 is ready-to-use and rinses off in hot or cold water. Its thixotropic
character permits easy and effective preparation of larger screens held
in a vertical position. Non-caustic - will not harm frames, fabric, or
adhesives on stretch and glue frames. Recommended for use with all stencil
systems on synthetic fabric only.
Instructions
* Dampen the screen fabric with water.
* Apply Ulanogel 23 to both sides of the screen and scrub vigorously with a
wet, stiff, short-bristle nylon brush on both sides of the fabric.
* Rinse the screen throroughly from both sides, including the inside edge of
the frame and the frame corners, with hot or cold water.
Health & Safety
Information
Ulanogel 23 may be irritating if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes.
First Aid: In case of contact with the eyes or skin, flush immediately with
water for 15 minutes and contact a physician.

All Mesh Prep No. 25 Product Summary
A ready-to-use liquid mordant that promotes fabric water retention and,
thus, the uniform adhesion of all Direct Films.
All Mesh Prep is especially helpful for use with thin CDF® Direct Films
applied to fine fabric, which inherently holds little water. All Mesh Prep
No. 25 rinses easily from the screen with hot or cold water. Non-caustic
- will not harm frames, fabric, or adhesives on stretch and glue frames.
Recommended for use with all CDF® Direct Films. Do not use on natural
silk. Instructions
* Apply All Mesh Prep No. 25 only after the fabric has been thoroughly degreased
and immediately before adhering the Direct Film.
* Rinse both sides of the screen thoroughly with water.
* Apply All Mesh Prep No. 25 with a medium-stiff, long bristle nylon brush
to both sides of the screen.
* Let the screen stand for one or two minutes.
* Rinse the screen thoroughly from both sides with hot or cold water.
* All Mesh Prep No. 25 should be used no more than one hour before adhering
the film. If you do not proceed immediately to adhere the Direct Film, re-wet
the screen just before adhering the film.
Health & Safety Information
All Mesh Prep No. 25 contains a mild acid and may be irritating
over a prolonged period of time if it comes in contact with
the skin or eyes. First Aid: In
case of contact with the eyes or skin, flush immediately with water for

Screen Filler No. 60 Product Summary
A water-soluble blockout with drying characteristics similar to Indirect
Films.
Can be used full strength for touch-ups or thinned with water if desired.
Can be used in unventilated rooms since it contains no organic solvents.
Recommended for use on all fabrics, with all stencil systems. Use only
with non-aqueous inks.
Instructions
* For direct emulsion and CDF Direct-Film stencils: Pour a small amount
of Screen Filler No. 60 onto the border area of the fully processed
and dried
stencil on the printing side of the screen. Scrape it evenly into the fabric,
using a piece of cardboard or plastic. Apply a second, "reinforcing" coat
to the squeegee side of the screen, if necessary.
* For Indirect System stencils: For best register and a strong "knit" between
stencil and blockout, apply the Ulano No. 60 Screen Filler, as above, when
the screen fabric is dry, but before the film is completely dry. Apply the
blockout to the printing side of the screen, going over the edges of the backing
sheet. Let the stencil and Screen Filler No. 60 dry completely before printing.
* For touchups: Use full strength or thin Screen Filler No. 60 with water and
touch up as needed with an artist's brush.
* To remove: After ink removal, but before stencil removal, rinse with water.
* Use Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10 for easier handling, for coverage with a
single coating, or with coarse fabric.

Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10 Product Summary
A heavy, non-flammable, water-soluble blockout with drying characteristics
similar to Indirect Films.
The high viscosity of Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10 affords easier handling,
and generally assures effective coverage in a single coating. Especially
useful with coarse mesh. Can be used for touchups when thinned with cold
water. Can be used in unventilated rooms since it contains no organic solents.
Recommended for use on all fabrics, with all stencil systems. Use only
with non-aqueous inks.
Instructions
* For direct emulsion and CDF Direct-Film stencils: Pour a small amount of
Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10 onto the open border area of the fully processed
and dried stencil on the printing side of the screen. Scrape it evenly into
the fabric, using a piece of cardboard or plastic. Use the scraper to smooth
and thin the layer to promote quick drying.
* For Indirect System stencils: For best register and a strong "knit" between
stencil and blockout, apply the Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10, as above, when
the screen fabric is dry, but before the film is completely dry. Apply the
blockout to the printing side of the screen, going over the edges of the
backing sheet. Let the stencil and Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10 dry completely
before
printing.
* For touchups: Thin Extra Heavy Blockout No. 10 with cold water and touch
up as needed.
* To remove: After ink removal, but before stencil removal, rinse with water.

Haze Remover Paste No. 78 Product Summary
An ink haze and stencil residue remover that is effective on most inks
and emulsions.
Follow instructions carefully to avoid weakening fabric. Recommended for
use with all Ulano Stencil systems on all fabrics except natural silk and
metalized polyester. For industrial use only. Instructions
* Remove ink and stencil as usual, allow the screen to dry.
* Mix the Haze Remover Paste No. 78 thoroughly.
* Brush the paste briskly on both sides of the dry screen with a dry,
long bristle nylon brush. (Water on the screen or brush dilutes the
action of the chemical.)
* For light stains, let the screen stand for ten minutes.
* For more stubborn stains, apply a thick layer of paste and let it remain
of the screen for several hours. However, since Haze Remover Paste No.
78 does etch
fabric surfaces, to avoid premature rupture of the fabric, especially worn
or fine fabric, it is best to limit the application time to as short as
necessary.
* Rinse with a gentle spray, then a power spray from both sides. Health & Safety
